Microwave Use

Have you ever wondered what happens when you don't use your microwave correctly? Last night I was warming up a frozen hot dog bun for my youngest. I thought I had set the timer for 20 seconds. Then I checked my email during that time. Then I checked the front page of Etsy. Then I checked my store. Then I thought why is it taking so long? Yikes...I had set the timer for 2 minutes rather than 20 seconds!

Ta daaaa....the end result:

It's interesting how the middle of the bun got cooked but not the outside edges. What does that mean?

Been there; done that. More times than I care to admit. :(

As to the hot spot...I have NO clue. Did you make the poor child eat this? hehe

No, we put it outside to see if any wild animal wanted it. This morning it was all eaten except for the middle!

I once set the timer, I think for 20 minutes. But stupid me pressed the "Start" button instead of the "timer" button. Miraculously, our microwaved wasn't ruined. But yeah, that's my bonehead microwave story.

Hello RunAliceRun — lovely shop & blog you have! Found you because Xenotees (lovely Noelle) gives you a shout-out in her profile... This microwave post is a riot — and timely because my boyfriend just pointed out a burn stain on the inside of his microwave the other day. Apparently, he once unknowingly left a little potato in there and it kept getting nuked and nuked... until one day it caught on FIRE, and left the burn. Seriously. Fire! Congrats on all the creativity, and happy 2009 :)
