Who Are We Really??

I was listening to a speaker on my CD today and he was talking about the masks we wear -- not the literal ones, but what we show the outside world. We are afraid to reveal our true selves sometimes so we put on a happy face or don't admit when we fail, or hurt or are angry.

Yes, and I, too, wear masks sometimes. I can only imagine what the people are like who create these wonderful treasuries. I sometimes have a conversation with each of them and a little bit more is revealed about their lives, but not always enough to really "know" that person. And I'm sure they think the same about me. I sometimes wonder if I would be friends with any of these Etsy sellers if they lived next door to me. If we would get together for coffee or lunch or hang out together on the weekends.

Well, enough philosophizing, and now to the fun part....I'm Yearning for a wonderful summer this year. I'm Yearning for a good meal on my wedding anniversary on Tuesday. If anyone wants to guess how many years I've been married be my guest! Sheila at Shecological made a beautiful treasury featuring one of my post it note holders (or maybe it was a mini notebook). Whatever one it was, I think it fit very nicely. :-)

Sheila's bags would be the perfect summer accessory this year. Check out both of these below:

Vintage Brain -- where did that title come from? Oh, I see now, from sushipotparts. Us Etsy curators love the titles of some of the items we feature and anakim is no exception. I'm always trying to find catchy titles for my treasuries and this one was just peachy keen.

A little about me is seen in these gorgeous pieces by Orna. I love simple clean lines. Nothing flashy...

Theresa of pixiepaper created a treasury with no name. But since we need to put something in the title box she chose ............ Who cares? I love what she's done with her treasury and my Audrey magnet looked right at home.

Aren't these embellishments just super cool? I love the colors and designs. Those coasters would also look perfect in anyone's home. Thanks Theresa for some fun stuff to see right in your shop!

Oh, lookee here - a front page treasury. I'm always liking those front pages because I usually get a sale or two from them. We all need an encouraging sales boost once in awhile. SarahJohnAfana created this fun blue and red treasury, but then again, Sarah seems like a fun type of California girl. I could hang out with her for awhile and I know she'd make me laugh and have a good time.

Now I'm pretty upset because I just bought some wonderful beach inspired cards from Sarah, but I just saw some other beachy cards in her shop. I hate it when people do that. I buy one thing and then another wonderful thing shows up right after that! Urghh!! If given the choice to live in the mountains or by the water, I would always choose the water. Now you know something else about me.

One reason I like sharing other people's shops with you is so that I don't have to talk about myself. I'm a very private kind of person and I don't want you to be disappointed if you find out who the real me is. :-)

Monday Madness

I am mad - well at least earlier today I was. Each of my kids had a meltdown when it was time to do math. What's with math and kids and Mondays? Why can't it be a subject they know they need and that if they only "love" it they would be so happy!

Fortunately, their meltdowns lasted a short time and my madness disappeared. Now I'm happy and enjoying the time I can spend on my blog to feature some of the Etysians who have featured either PipingHotPapers or RunAliceRun in their gorgeous treasuries.

Yukabyguliz is from Istanbul. I've never been there but I bet it's a beautiful place to visit. How do you like living there??? Is it as desirable as this treasury you made by the same name???

I was amazed by the jewelry in Yukabyguliz's shop. So beautiful and unique. I bet math is involved to some degree when these pieces were created!

A Charmed Life was how I felt when stylinstuff featured PHP in this treasury! Beautiful curation and wonderful picks made this a very cool treasury. Look, there's another math idea: 3 across and 4 down equals 12 boxes of beautiful Etsy bonza (that's Aussie for "cool").

Stylinstuff is from Fort Worth, Texas. I lived in Dallas for 5 years and know that the earth is beautiful down there -- just like these "earthy" pieces of jewelry! I count 13 square ceramic beads on that necklace (more math). I need to get my kids over here.

What a creative theme photographybyjenna had when she put together this Do You Have a Light treasury. Some real and some fake matchbooks. Mine are fake, but they work great as wedding favors.

I am so ready for summer and walks on the beach at my mom's home in the upper part of Michigan. And I wonder what kind of pod that is below the footprint. Perhaps Jenna will visit this blog and let me know... (Did you notice there was only one footprint? Where's the other one? Was this just a one-legged person? One - One = Zero.

Green Spring...Blue Sky by aflutter did a wonderful job creating a mood of springtime freshness. Did you know spring is one of four seasons in Michigan? See, another math concept. What if there were 6 seasons? What would we do then??

Great photography and whimsical and unique jewelry make up aflutter's shop. I love this quote from her shop announcement: "My new line is all about spontaneity and serendipity and I'm having a blast creating it so pull up a chair and get cozy! Let's have some fun." I agree, fun can be seen all throughout this cool store.

Another Monday has come and gone, but these treasuries and the accompanying items will stay here for a long time to come. Thanks, everyone, for your wonderful treasury creating abilities and for giving me a little joy in being featured!!

Fun on Thursday

Today is the last day of enrichment classes at our homeschooling group. We have 58 families involved and I know my kids will really miss it. We don't start again until September and the time between now and then will need to be filled with visits from friends.

Memorial Day is the day we set up our pool and the kids are already planning on having pool parties. I decided that if we have a party all the invited kids need to bring a snack to share.

I wish I could invite all my Etsy friends to a pool party, too! I wouldn't even enforce a "snack" requirement from them. We'd sit under the tree and watch the kids swim. I decided I don't swim any longer unless it's in a big lake (i.e. Lake Michigan).

One person I'd invite is SarahJohnAfana. But she said Michigan sounds too cold for her. Those California girls are wimps! But she's not a wimp when it comes to her treasury skills. I've included two here because for some reason Sarah is on a PHP whim. Love the treasuries in which PHP was included!

SarahJohnAfana has some great items in her shop. In fact, I purchased the cards shown below and they are super cool. So colorful and exotic. I can't wait to use them. My sister-in-law's birthday is coming up and she'll be the first to receive one.

I am totally satisfied with the results of this treasury by Emily of ureshii! Elegant, hot, colorful, and extremely lovely!

I think I need to seriously consider losing some weight. Then I would look sleek and elegant in these wonderful pieces by ureshii! Dream on, Alice!

Talking about dreaming brings me to the next treasury. PaperandSparkles created a gorgeous treasury featuring one of my mini notebooks. I loved how I looked in there - sleek and lovely! Thanks, PaperandSparkles!!

A bouquet of felt flowers would look so refreshing in my home right now! Come on in spring! Check out PaperandSparkles' shop for some fun felt items!

Well, the kids are getting out of bed and life calls! But take a moment and enjoy the wonderful creations made by some very talented Etsyians!

Clean Room

My husband and I are having troubles with our 13 year old daughter. I've been through these issues before (I have a 26 year old), but I guess I didn't learn anything from that experience. Here's the situation - she claims her room is her personal space and she can keep it as neat or cluttered as she wants. Hello, child, but I can't see the floor! Her dad didn't like that attitude last night and has now given her a writing assignment for school today (we homeschool so we can do that). I told her she should start paying rent for her room if she wants to keep it that messy. Any suggestions?

That's why I come to the treasuries so often. Everything is nice, neat and in it's proper place. Take a look at a few treasuries that included items from PipingHotPapers and RunAliceRun!

This was very delightful to my eyes and spirit. I think Olaladesign outdid herself with this gorgeous treasury!

Olaladesign has some very creative jewelry pieces in her shop. Everything is nice, neat and in it's place!

it is what it is was a treasury featuring some magnets from RunAliceRun. I think it is what it is was very neat and orderly. Thanks CocoaBeans for featuring me. I felt the love and pat on my back for the rough times I've been going through with messy rooms and such.

I love the colors CocoaBeans uses in all her crocheted items. Bright, fun, clean, neat, not messy!

Kodomo is cute, Kodomo is fun, Kodomo's treasury made it to the front page! Yippee!!

Don't you just love the fabric on this cat? I just want to squeeze it to death! Cute cat Kodomo!! (I love the donut, too!)

I know I'll get over being irritated with "you know who." All these Etsy sellers have helped tremendously on this rainy day in Michigan! Thanks, ladies!!!

A nice Sunday it turned out to be! We've had rain, sun, thunderstorms, sun, rain and sun all weekend.

I love storms with the thunder and lightning and this weekend was fun because my family (husband and 3 kids) went out biking yesterday with a sunny blue sky. We packed up the bikes and traveled about 20 minutes to a local park with many miles of bike trails. Off we went and about 15 minutes into our riding the tornado warning system started. A loud blast could be heard for miles around. So, we did what we were supposed to do (but not right away). Instead of playing at the park, we turned around and headed back to the van. Doug always travels ahead with 2 of the kids while Kyle and I take our time. Actually, Kyle is the slowpoke and I just stay behind to keep him company. But this time, I had to push him along quickly because I saw the clouds coming -- dark stormy clouds. We were about 100 feet from the van when the torrential rain started. We got soaked!! You could wring our clothes out they were so wet. But it was fun!!!

The clouds looked a little bit like the scene you see below in the treasury curated by Melfitz. Fitzy (as I like to call her), created a beautiful treasury which included some of my matchbook notepads. Cool and chocolaty with a little mint thrown in!! This wonderful treasury made it to the front page of Etsy. Great feelings of comfort came to me that special day!

Mel (Fitzy) is a knitter. I used to knit. Now I look at everyone else who knits and just dream. I started knitting when I was very young; maybe 10 or so! How long have you been knitting Mel?

Complementary is a gorgeous treasury which featured magnets from RunAliceRun. It was curated by corrieberrypie and had a super color combination. My owl fit right in -- Hot in Hawaii!!

Corrieberrypie creates some beautiful jewelry and also this wonderful looking Blue Flower Wrap.

Sisply made a treasury entitled Welcome which also made it to the front page of Etsy! Woo Hoo! I always feel special when one of my items make it to the front page! Thanks so much!!

I love the images in Sisply's shop. Birds always appeal to me and I wish we had more variety in our backyard. But the city accommodates only so many varieties. I'll enjoy bird watching right here!

Etsy is addicting and treasury making is addicting. I so enjoy viewing all the treasuries created by such wonderful people on Etsy. Thanks, ladies, for making me feel so special in the world of Etsy!!
